The Editor's Bit

I had it all planned! Finish this Stun, get it to the printers on Monday morning and they’ll be ready for taking round the bars on Friday 13th! That would leave me free to celebrate Elly’s birthday on Thursday. But, I forgot Monday was a public holiday, so they won’t be back from the printers ‘til after the weekend now. At least I don’t have to go out the day after Elly’s birthday now, not that I’ll have a hangover. We’ll be putting the Cava on hold for now because Elly can’t touch alcohol with the painkillers she’s taking for her trapped nerve.

Because Elly is in so much pain, we haven’t got a Prize Crossword and I took over her Rants & Raves this month, but she still contributed to this edition in her roles as artistic director and proof reader.

Just for a change, this month’s cover does relate to something in the Stun. On page 11, you can find my pick of the best bars to watch the World Cup on TV and our football expert Frank gives his analysis in Being Frank On Football, starting on page 28. All of the World Cup fixtures can also be found in the Stun Gig-List + from page 12.
