The Editor's Bit

The biggest party of the year is rapidly approaching, so it’s time to start digging out the orange clothing you haven’t seen or worn since last April. Yes, it’s King’s Day on the 27th! Despite petty rules, like not being allowed to carry more than one can of beer, and a crackdown on loud music on the streets and canals, it still manages to be the noisiest, drunken day of the year and it’s great!

I haven’t made any plans for King’s Day yet; Elly should be home before then, so no all-day bender for me this year, but I hope to be able to get out for a couple of hours to take a few photos around the bars closest to home.

No Cover Contest this month; it’s too easy. I could have Photoshopped out the bar and street signs, or asked you to name the band, but it’s too late to do the signs now and once you know it’s Susie’s Saloon, the band is easy; the same French band come back every year. If you want to know who it is, see the Gig List on page 13.

The answer to last month’s Cover Contest was Molly Malone’s. Steven and Tommy gave me the correct answer, but I can’t give them an Honourable Mention due to their close association with Molly’s.

We’ve got a bumper 32 page issue for you this month, with photos from Paddy’s Day in Molly’s, Susie’s 25th Anniversary Party and most of the bars I visited, along with all of our usual stuff, so enjoy your Stun.
