The Editor's Bit
We didn’t get any answers for last month’s Cover Competition. It was the view from the opening venue of the Grachtenfestival; the Compagnietheater on Kloveniersburgwal.
No prizes for this month’s cover; it’s the old Shell building, Amsterdam’s newest tourist attraction! I could say it was taken at twilight to represent September, when the light of summer make way for the darkening nights of autumn, but I only thought of that later. The real reason I took it was because the Stun had to go to the printers the next morning, I still didn’t have a cover at 8pm and I only had to cross the road outside my house to take it.
I’ve made a couple of changes to the layout of the Stun this month, starting with what were Elly’s pages. The birthday & anniversary list were always part of Elly’s pages and I want to continue with that, so the list now gets its own page, filled up with photos featuring some of the people on it. To fill the leftover column, I’ve expanded my Editor’s Bit to fill the whole page, but to save me having to think of enough to write about, I’ll be including a couple of photos, which might get more people to read it.
Well, that’s my new XL Editor’s Bit for this month; all of our usual stuff is here, so enjoy your September edition of the Stun.
