The Editor's Bit

The statue on this month’s cover wasn’t my first choice; I wanted to take a photo of the one of Kate Moss with her legs round her neck that’s somewhere in Zuid, but I had a bike accident, was knocked out and had to go to the hospital for a brain scan. Apart from concussion, I’m OK, but I’ve had to take it easy for a couple of weeks and the bike is still a no-no at the moment, so I never found Kate.
For this month’s Cover Competition, I went for something closer to home, and I have to confess; I’d never noticed it before. There’s still no physical prize, but if you know where the statue on this month’s cover is, let me know and you could get an Honourable Mention in this column next month, if you’re right.
A lot of you recognised the blue violinist on last month’s cover, but only one person told me that it’s on the corner of Marnixstraat and 2de Hugo de Grootstraat, so an Honourable Mention goes out to Colin Bentley!
For some reason, it would appear that Emily and George are now engaged! The Stun was the first printed media with the news when they moved in together two years ago and now we’ve got the scoop on their engagement (even though George actually proposed a couple of months ago), so I’m hoping I’ll get invited to the wedding. I’ll bring my best camera, and a spare, just in case.
The concussion stopped me getting out as much, so I didn’t take enough photos to fill 24 pages, but I had too many for 20, so apologies if I left your photo out. All of our usual stuff is here, plus there’s a first look at this season’s Premier Predictions League on page 17, so enjoy your September edition of the Stun.
