The Editor's Bit

Last month’s Stun was delivered on different days than usual, so we’ve got different people getting an Honourable Mention this time; Gianni in Café Oporto gets his as the first person to get it correct while I was delivering the Stun around town and Big Al from Texas for getting it online. Congratulations to both of you for getting it right. It was one of the turrets on Centraal Station!

For this month’s Cover Competition, I’m taking a break from the Torentjes, because we really should mention the fact that Amsterdam is celebrating its 750th Anniversary this year. All you have to do to get an Honourable Mention in this column next month is tell me where the photo on the cover was taken, simple as that. If you know, contact details are on page two, or you can tell me in person if you meet me in a bar, but if that’s the case, make sure I write it down because I can be a bit forgetful.

Gill came over from Dublin to see her old friends in Amsterdam and Assen. It was too hot to leave her air-conditioned hotel when she got here, but things had cooled down before she went back to Ireland. The summer showers outside Molly Malone’s didn’t dampen our spirits.

The new football season is about to start, which means you’ve got another chance to win €60 in food/drink from our friends at Coco’s Outback in our Premier Predictions League competition. Sail is back for the first time since 2015, so I might be out wandering the along the banks of the IJ; we shall see! There’s always something happening in this city we call home and it’s impossible for me to keep track of everything, so settle for what you can read in your Stun!
